What are the main indexes of black polyester masterbatch?
The main function of black polyester masterbatch is coloring, and its color and color fastness must meet the requirements of customers. At the same time, its quality must also meet the requirements of polyester spinning and post-processing technology, that is, the addition of master batch does not affect the spinnability of polyester and the physical, mechanical and wear properties of colored fiber. Detection for master batch manufacturers is to have a basic estimate of their product quality, for users is to provide a scientific basis for the use of color master batch. There are several items that should be tested.
Black polyester masterbatch:
1. Appearance. The master particle is required to be uniform, without powder, debris and super long particles.
2. Packing density (g/cm3). It is required to be stable and accurate, and the particle size should be as consistent as possible with the spinning raw material slice.
3. Moisture content. Water is a very important index for polyester spinning. Users usually measure the water content of master batch again before spinning. But in order to facilitate the user according to the moisture content of master grain budget to add quantity, master grain manufacturers should also test the moisture content of the product before leaving the factory.
4. Color content. For conventional standard masterbatches such as black, the accurate color content is an important basis for users to determine the dilution ratio of spinning, while for autocratic masterbatches, the color content is only a reference, more important is the accurate dilution ratio.
5. Melting point and softening point. Melting point is not an important representation of masterbatch quality and spinnability, but it is an important basis for users to determine the spinning and drying process conditions.
6. Discoloration temperature (or heat stability). The important basis of whether polyester masterbatch can adapt to spinning process conditions.
7. Fastness to sublimation. The ability of the pigment in the masterbatch to escape from the carrier by directly turning into a gas due to heat. Because of the different sublimation fastness of the dye, the color tone of the blend may change, and the user's equipment may also be contaminated by the sublimated dye. This is an index that must be taken into account when the masterbatch manufacturer selects the dye, and also an important index to characterize the properties of masterbatch.
8. Color fastness. Master batch can meet the basic needs of the important index. But for pre-spinning coloring, because each dye must go through strict or even extremely harsh selection before use, and its dyeing mechanism is to form a uniform solid melt inside and outside, the fastness is at least one level higher than the general conventional dyeing method. Therefore, in general, the color fastness of dyed fabrics before spinning will not appear any major problems. As long as master batch manufacturers pay attention to accumulate the color fastness data of each dye and each ratio, and have an accurate and reliable basic estimate of the color fastness of this batch of master batch, it is not necessary to test this index for every batch number.
9. Ash. This index is mainly used to detect the content of inorganic salts and mechanical impurities in the masterbatch, but has no characteristic significance for the coarse particles of pigment in the masterbatch and the condensed particles of polyester. It is proved that the size of ash can predict and characterize the filtration performance of masterbatch to a certain extent.
10.DF value (or △P curve). The value can predict the replacement cycle of user spinning components.
