Chemical fiber masterbatch is a granular material in which pigments or additives are pre-dispersed in the carrier resin. It is used for pre-coloring and modification of chemical fibers before spinning. Compared with traditional dyeing methods, Chemical fiber masterbatch directly completes coloring during the spinning process, which can reduce the subsequent washing stage.
In the production of polyester, the application scope of Chemical fiber masterbatch is quite wide. During the spinning process, polyester masterbatch is added in proportion, which can result in black fibers, white fibers, or various colored fibers. The color difference control in this coloring method is relatively stable, and the color consistency of the same batch of products at different winding positions is also good. For dark-colored polyester fabrics, using a high-concentration chemical fiber masterbatch can also reduce the processing burden of the subsequent dyeing factory.
The compatibility of polypropylene filament spinning with chemical fiber masterbatches is more demanding. Polypropylene color masterbatches need to use carrier resins that match polypropylene; otherwise, problems such as broken fibers and fuzzing are prone to occur. Commonly available polypropylene masterbatches in the market include ordinary coloring type, anti-aging type, and flame-retardant type, etc. For outdoor use, polypropylene geotextiles or shading nets usually require the addition of UV-resistant functional masterbatches to extend the usage period of the materials under sunlight conditions.
The processing of nylon masterbatch is relatively more difficult. The spinning temperature of nylon is higher, and the pigments in the Chemical fiber masterbatch need to have good heat resistance. Some high-end functional masterbatches can also endow fibers with antibacterial, far-infrared or moisture absorption and sweat dissipation properties, which are used in the production of sports clothing or functional underwear.
What indicators should be considered when choosing Chemical fiber masterbatch?
When selecting chemical fiber masterbatch, it is recommended to pay attention to indicators such as dispersibility, heat resistance temperature, and carrier matching degree. Regular chemical fiber masterbatch suppliers will provide filter test values and heat loss data. Through small-scale tests to confirm the formula before investing in mass production can effectively reduce the frequency of changing spinning components. Mixing chemical fiber masterbatch with ordinary pellets in an appropriate proportion can help control material costs while ensuring the color of the fibers.
Poly Plastic Masterbatch (Suzhou) Co., Ltd (short name: PPM) was founded in May 1995. We have focused on dope dyeing for chemical fiber as well as R&D and production of advanced compounding material for years. Main products include color and functional masterbatch with high quality, environmentally friendly water-based nano color paste, optical electronic ink and etc. Downstream applications cover a wide range of industries, e.g. chemical fiber, automotive, E/E, optical material and other high-tech material.
