The main classifications and functions of chemical fiber masterbatches!

According to their core functions, chemical fiber masterbatches are mainly divided into two categories:

Color masterbatch

Function: To provide rich and long-lasting colors for chemical fibers. Compared with traditional dyeing processes, using color masterbatches for original solution coloring has significant advantages such as uniform color, high color fastness, energy conservation and environmental protection (no need for subsequent water washing dyeing), and high production efficiency. It is currently the main coloring method for fibers such as polyester, nylon and polypropylene.

Functional masterbatch

Function: It injects special properties into fibers during the manufacturing stage, thereby enhancing the added value of end textiles.

Common functional masterbatches include:

Antibacterial masterbatch: It endows fibers with the ability to inhibit bacteria and mold, and is widely used in medical and sportswear.

Flame-retardant masterbatch: Enhances the fire resistance and flame retardancy of fibers, and is used in fields such as home curtains and protective clothing.

Anti-ultraviolet masterbatch: Absorbs or reflects ultraviolet rays, making sun-protective clothing and outdoor products.

Far-infrared masterbatches, moisture-wicking masterbatches, etc., meet the market demand for intelligent and comfortable textiles.

Iii. How to Choose High-quality chemical fiber masterbatch?

Choosing a reliable supplier of chemical fiber masterbatch is of vital importance as it directly affects the quality of the fibers. You need to pay attention to the following points

Dispersibility: Excellent dispersibility is the key to ensuring uniform fiber color, no stiff filaments, and no impact on strength.

Temperature resistance: The masterbatch must be able to withstand the high-temperature environment during the spinning of chemical fibers without decomposition or discoloration.

Compatibility: The masterbatch carrier and the fiber base material must have good compatibility to ensure a firm bond.

Stability: The stable quality from batch to batch is the prerequisite for ensuring the smooth progress of large-scale production.
